Spanish top-tier football club, Cadiz, has joined the global Nigerian community in honoring the memory of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The talented rapper, who sadly passed away at the age of 27 on September 13, has garnered widespread tributes from fans, celebrities, and politicians. Cadiz, currently holding the 9th position in La Liga, has announced a heartfelt gesture in memory of Mohbad. During their upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano, Mohbad’s jersey will be prominently displayed on their substitute bench, serving as a symbol of strength and a tribute to the late artist.

 

Following Mohbad’s untimely passing, Nigeria has witnessed persistent protests and calls for justice surrounding the circumstances. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Cadiz Football Club expressed their intention to draw inspiration from Mohbad’s jersey, stating that it will serve as a source of strength to clinch victory against Vallecano. The post emphasized that the “Cadista jersey will be on the bench to give us the strength we need to win the match” as a “tribute for Mohbad in our temple.”
