Two inmate who ran away are captured in Katsina. The Nigerian Correctional Service Katsina State Command said that two detainees who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre on October 17, 2023 have been apprehended.
This was stated in a statement signed by ASC Najibullah Idris, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, and made accessible to our correspondent on Wednesday.
According to the statement, a combined search party was launched immediately following the escape with sister security organizations.
Shortly after their escape, their efforts resulted in the capture of Ibrahim Muhammad Lawal, also known as Abba Kala.
Najibullah, on the other hand, stated that “the command deployed its advanced e-tracking technology and employed both overt and covert intelligence gathering” before apprehending the second fugitive.
“These combined efforts paid off yesterday, December 19, 2023, with the apprehension of the second escapee, Musa Isah, in Kaduna metropolis,” according to a portion of the document.
The Nigerian Correctional Service has approved the promotion of 5,004 senior officers who participated in the 2023 promotion exercise conducted by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NCoS Spokesperson, Abubakar Umar, on Saturday.
Umar said, “Seven Controllers of Corrections were elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections while 35 Deputy Controllers of Corrections were promoted to Controller of Corrections.
