Ganduje, Shettima receives chieftaincy titles in Anambra

Ganduje, Shettima receives chieftaincy titles in Anambra. Vice President Kashim Shettima and All Progressives Congress National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje have earned chieftaincy titles in Anambra State.

The ancient titles were bestowed on Shettima and Ganduje on Saturday during the 32nd Ofala festival of Ukpo Dumukofia.

On Sunday, photos from the ceremony were uploaded on the APC’s X page.

“The National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Vice President Kashim Shettima have received chieftaincy titles in Anambra State,” the caption read.

“HM Igwe Dr. Robert C. Eze (Okofi VI) bestowed the titles on the two leaders on Saturday during the 32nd Ofala festival of Ukpo Dumukofia.”

“Sponsored by Prince Arthur Eze, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, and some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were present at the event.”

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has charged the media to play its pivotal role as a watchdog in sustaining the nation’s fledgling democracy.

The President of the AYCF, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, stated that the media remained key to the development of any society.

While saying that the media could make or mar any society, he noted that being a product of the struggle for the survival of democracy in the country, he could attest to the key role played by the Nigerian media in that regard.

Shettima made this assertion when the leadership of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna State Council paid him a visit at his corporate office in Kaduna, the state capital on Saturday.
