Legendary fuji musician, Kollington Ayinla, has dispelled rumors of his demise circulating on social media. The 75-year-old musician addressed the false claims about his health on Tuesday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.

In a video shared on social media, Kollington expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, CMD of LASUTH Adetokunbo Fabanwo, and the hospital management for their support during his recent illness. He thanked God for his divine healing and acknowledged the fans who have stood by him.

“I want to thank Lagosians, the government of Lagos State, LASUTH, and the team under the leadership of Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo. It is only God that can save life, but I want to appreciate him and the team because I would have gone to the great beyond. I give it to LASUTH. They are king for taking care of me. They deserve my salutations,” Kollington said in Yoruba.

Born in August 1949, Kollington Ayinla is a prominent figure in the Fuji music scene, having dominated alongside his late friend and competitor, Ayinde Barrister. Their influence played a significant role in popularizing the genre. Kollington, also known by aliases such as Baba Alatika, Kebe-n-Kwara, and Baba Alagbado, expressed gratitude for the support that has kept him alive.
