Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, the 12-year-old Dowen College pupil who passed away on November 30, 2021, amidst allegations of torture by senior students, has been laid to rest. The burial took place at the family’s compound in Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta, following a two-year quest for justice.
Born on December 4, 2009, Sylvester’s burial drew several dignitaries, with emotions running high as family members and well-wishers mourned the untimely loss. Femi Falana, the renowned human rights lawyer, praised Sylvester as a great Nigerian whose impactful life was cut short.
Sylvester Oromoni Jnr’s family, determined to seek justice for their departed son, reiterated their commitment during the second anniversary of his demise. They vowed not to tire or be discouraged in their pursuit of justice, emphasizing their dedication to fulfilling the promise made to Sylvester.
