Atiku Abubakar
Atiku says he worked against Fayose. Former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose says he has no regrets fighting ‘one hundred percent’ against the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee, Atiku Abubakar, in the run-up to the February 25 presidential election.
Fayose, a PDP member, also stated that he was not concerned about getting booted out of the party for making the admission.
He stated that he backed All Progressives Congress President Bola Tinubu on principle.
He made the revelation when he featured on ‘Politics Today’ on Channels Television on Sunday night.
“I worked 100 percent against him (Atiku),” Fayose stated. Nigeria is bigger than the PDP, the APC, and even Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Allow us to call a spade a spade. I am not a man who will conceal his actions. They can’t claim I can’t survive if PDP doesn’t need me again.
“However, I adore the PDP, despite the fact that the party has not been fair to me.” I am a man of principles. So, let me state unequivocally that I never worked for the PDP during the past election. I am not a liar and a pretender. I did not work for PDP.”
He stated that he was still a member of the PDP, “except the PDP says, ‘Fayose, we don’t need you anymore.'” Then they freed me from the yoke. But, in all honesty, it is a party in which I believe, subscribe, and intend to remain indefinitely. I will never be a member of the APC.”
