2023 Emmy Awards

Emmy Awards postponed. The 2023 Emmy Awards will also be impacted by the continuing strike by Hollywood actors and writers.

The event, which was supposed to take place on September 18, has been rescheduled for a later date to be announced.

According to an exclusive report by Variety, vendors, producers, and other event participants have been advised that their services will be postponed until a later date.

The TV academy and Fox would most likely postpone the event until January of next year, as the strikes show no signs of ending soon.

The Writers Guild of America kick-started industrial actions in May after efforts to solve labour disputes with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers proved futile. The union demands higher pay, especially residuals from streaming services.

The writers also demanded that Artificial Intelligence be utilized exclusively for research purposes and not as a full replacement for human services.

In July, the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists staged a walkout in response to diminishing pay and the danger posed by AI.

In response, AMPTP stated that it had given “historic” wage increases as well as a “groundbreaking AI proposal” to performers who had chosen “a path that will lead to financial hardship for countless thousands of people who rely on the industry.”

While the WGA strike has already decreased the amount of films and television series in development, the actors’ strike has also halted production and several industry events.

Because of the strike, actors are unable to participate in film or television projects, marketing, awards, premieres, or other related activities.
