Housewife shot in Osun is dead. Adijat, a housewife from Oke Akute Area, Iba, Osun State, who was wounded by unidentified people, died on Thursday at an unnamed hospital in Iree, where she was being treated for a gunshot wound.
According to Iba sources, the woman was shot while having a bath at her home about 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
Adijat, a Fulani by tribe, who was believed to have a three-month-old baby, was rushed to a private hospital in Iree shortly after the event, where she has been admitted since Tuesday.
A resident of Iba, who craved anonymity, while commenting, said the incident caused panic in Iree, adding that the victim died in the early hours of Thursday.
He further said, “The reason why they shot her was unclear to the residents. She was shot by unknown people around 10:pm on Tuesday. She was in the bathroom when they attacked her.
“She was rushed to a private hospital in Iree on Tuesday evening, but she died shortly after 5 a.m. today.” I noticed some police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps officers at the crime scene. She was shot a day later. “We’re all terrified.”
When contacted, the spokesperson of NSCDC in Osun, Kehinde Adeleke, said operatives of the command visited the scene, noting that other security agencies were also involved.
“On Tuesday 19th September 2023, at around 2200hrs, a Fulani lady, simply known as Adija, was shot by some unidentified gunmen,” she added. The incident occurred in Iba’s Oke Akute Area while the victim was in the bathroom.
“Adijat, a three-month-old girl’s mother, died today (Thursday) 21st September at around 0500hrs.” We are joining other security agencies to unravel the mystery behind the incident.”
