Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, disclosed in a post on X, previously Twitter, on Saturday that the tribunal’s decision on the election case will be delivered on Monday.

“We have just been informed that judgment on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, the 25th of September.” the post reads.

Recall that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, known as Jandor, and Mr. Rhodes-Vivour, of the Labour Party, autonomously urged the tribunal to annul Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election and declare them the winners.

Following that, on Wednesday, May 24th, the tribunal denied the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples’ Movement and the Action Peoples Party challenging Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, in the March 18 gubernatorial election.

Sanwo-Olu had 762,134 votes, defeating his nearest competitor, Rhodes-Vivour, who got 312,329 votes.

Adediran, the PDP candidate, ranked third with 62,449 votes, while Funmilayo Kupoluyi, the APM candidate, got 884 votes and Abiola Adeyemi, the APP candidate, scored 259 votes.

The applications from the APM and APP were dismissed by the Tribunal’s Chairman, Justice Arum Ashom after the petitioners willingly withdrew them.
