Abduction Crisis: Christ Apostolic Church Members Kidnapped in Akure, Ondo State
Members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Akure, Ondo State, face a harrowing ordeal as assailants target a group traveling for a burial program.
A distressing incident unfolded on Friday evening as some members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), based in Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo state capital, fell victim to abduction. This sinister event occurred on the notorious Ifon road, situated in the Ose Local Council Area of the state. A source with direct knowledge of the situation revealed this tragic occurrence in the early hours of Saturday.
The source, a fellow member of the church, disclosed that the victims, primarily comprising choir members, were en route to an interment ceremony in Ose LGA. Shockingly, armed assailants intercepted their bus, holding twenty-five individuals captive and abandoning the vehicle by the roadside.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the police spokesperson in Ondo, officially confirmed the incident to Daily Trust. She stated that the police’s anti-kidnapping squad, along with other tactical units, have been mobilized to the area with the aim of swiftly rescuing the victims.
“The incident happened yesterday (Friday) afternoon,” Odunlami-Omisanya reported. “The police were informed that a Church Bus with the Inscription CAC was abandoned around the Elegbeka area and there are suspicions that the passengers in the vehicle were kidnapped
