Two nabbed over alleged gang rape in Lagos. Two persons, Joy Chigozie and Musa Salihu have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with a gang rape at Airport Road, Kirikiri area of the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened on Sunday around 6 p.m. but was reported on Monday around 10.30 p.m. to the Kirikiri Police Station.

The 29-year-old victim was lured by one of the suspects of the gang rape, who is still at large, to his alleged aunty’s shop where she was made to drink an alcoholic substance until she was drunk.

It was further gathered that the man with the help of his alleged aunt took her to a room where he and five other men forcefully had sexual intercourse with her one after the other.

It was further revealed that the men blindfolded her and threatened to kill her if she didn’t comply with their desire.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told our correspondent that the 56-year-old Chigozie and one of the rapists had been arrested and were currently being interrogated.

Hundeyin said, “On Monday, around 10.30 pm, one Rosemary, age, 28-year-old, reported to the Airport Road Kirikiri Station that on October 29, 2023, around 4 pm, she met a man (now at large) who took her to a kiosk to buy Schnapp drink.

“The man introduced a 56-year-old woman to her as his sister. She stated that the woman and his brother while smiling at Indian hemp made her get drunk.

“The man further arranged with the woman and took her to a place where she met five other men inside. They threatened to kill her and blindfolded her with a cloth.

“We further narrated that they had sexual intercourse with her one after the other.

Hundeyin stated that police detectives were deployed to the location of the kiosk and the woman was arrested, her kiosk searched but nothing incriminating was found.

“Immediately the case was reported, police detectives and the Family Support Unit swung into action. The said woman was arrested, her kiosk was searched but nothing incriminating was found.

“However, one of the principal suspects, Musa Salihu, aged 26 years old, was arrested at the scene of the crime.”

According to the Lagos PPRO, the survivor will be taken to the Mirabel Hospital Ikeja for tests, and the case will be transferred to the Gender Section Ikeja for discreet investigation.

“The survivor will be taken to the Mirabel Hospital Ikeja. The investigation is ongoing with efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

“The case will soon be transferred to the Gender Section, Ikeja for discreet investigation,” he said.
