DHQ – Chief of defense staff is alive. The Defence Headquarters has denied that General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has died.
A newspaper (not The PUNCH) reported that the Defence Chief had died.
However, the DHQ in a post on X on Tuesday said the Defence Chief is well and alive.
“Contrary to recent false reporting, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, is alive and well.”
“Please rely on credible sources for accurate information,” said part of the post.
According to the PUNCH, Musa was named Chief of Defence Staff by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023.

According to the Defence Headquarters, the military has continued to target the leadership and chains of command of terrorists, rebels, and extremist groups that are endangering the country’s security.
This was said by Maj-Gen. Edward Buba, Director, Defence Media Operations, on Friday in Abuja.
Buba said the ongoing counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations across the country yielded encouraging results.
He said the operations of the last week had resulted in the elimination of no fewer than 50 terrorists and the arrest of 122 of them in different operations across the country.
