55 suspected kidnappers arrested in jigawa

55 suspected kidnappers arrested in jigawa. Over 53 alleged offenders have been apprehended by the Jigawa State Police Command, including kidnappers, armed robbers, illegal arms makers, and human traffickers.

Ahmed Abdullahi, the state Commissioner of Police, made the announcement during his first press conference on Thursday at the police headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

He said three of the accused were involved to the kidnapping of a businessman in the state’s Kwaimawa village, Dutse Local Government Area.

Ten of the suspects were armed robbers, 25 were suspected thieves, three were suspected vehicle thieves, and three were suspected mobile phone thieves, according to him.

The CP also announced the arrest of a suspected illegal arms manufacturing in the Ringim LG’s Dutse Kwari village region, two suspected human traffickers, and seven motorcycle thieves in the Dutse, Maigatari, and Kazaure LGs.

“The police operations have led to the recovery of three locally fabricated firearms, four motor vehicles, N3.6 million, nine Android handsets, vandalised armoured cable wires, 32 cows, five sheep, 261 wraps of dry leaves of Indian hemp, sesame, millet, and groundnut valued at N450,000, among other items,” said the police officer.

The police chief emphasized the need of police and citizen participation in safeguarding the state’s peace and security.

“Through hard work, professionalism, and partnership, crime and criminality will be reduced to the minimum in the state,” Abdullahi said in a statement.

He urged Jigawa residents and others to assist the police by providing information and reporting any suspicious activity.

Abdullahi thanked the Jigawa State Government for its assistance and collaboration in the fight against crime.

He also praised the state police command’s officers and troops for their dedication and hard work.
