Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde
Oyo gov presents staff of office to new Aseyin of Iseyin. On Thursday, the new Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola, Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu I, was officially presented with the Staff of Office by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
According to the PUNCH, Abideen Adeniran, a legal practitioner, had previously advised Makinde not to proceed with the presentation of Staff of Office to the new Aseyin because the matter contesting his selection is still pending before an Oyo State High Court sitting in Iseyin.
Adeniran, who also argued that the action became necessary in the interests of justice, peace, and good governance, contended that the administration, led by Makinde, should be aware of the pending litigation no: HOI/04/2023 before the Court, sitting in Iseyin, about the fight over the old stool
However, Makinde, who presented the office personnel to the new Aseyin at Iseyin Stadium, noted that his main priority is growing Iseyin town further, adding that the area has enormous potential for expansion and development.
“Iseyin is a town with great potential, and I am committed to working with the people of Iseyin to realize that potential for the benefit of all,” he stated. Education and youth empowerment are the cornerstones of Iseyin’s prosperous future. We can ensure that our young people have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed by investing appropriately in these areas.”
The governor also stated that his administration was already working on various projects to promote education and young empowerment in the community, and that he would try to bring investment to Iseyin, with a concentration on the agricultural sector.
Following the presentation, Oba Oyebola expressed his thanks to the governor and stated that this was a historic event for him and the people of Iseyin.
“I am deeply grateful to Governor Makinde for his support and the trust he has shown in me by presenting me with the staff of office,” he said. I am committed to working with the governor to promote the growth of our community. As Aseyin of Iseyin, I will ensure that the people of Iseyin are proud of their past and that the values and traditions that make our town special are maintained.”
Oba Oyebola committed to work hard to live up to the people’s expectations, promote peace and togetherness, and stimulate economic development.
