Noun student forbidden from writing exam over dressing. Due to charges of unsuitable dress, a female student at the National Open University of Nigeria in Abuja was reportedly prohibited from appearing for her examination.
Cassandra Michael, the young lady in the video, published it on social media.
“This morning I came to school, I [have] paper around 2:00, I came to school and one of the invigilators said I am not going to write this exam because of my dressing, that I dressed improperly,” woman can be heard saying in the video.
The student then asked spectators to notify her whether she was dressed inappropriately.
She was wearing a white top, blue denim jacket, and a pair of black jeans.
In the viral video, a security agent is seen preventing woman from entering the hall while she asks, “I want to know my offence.”
“Don’t you know what you wear?” said a man standing in front of the hall.
The PUNCH reported in January that the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, had instructed professors to begin refusing students entry to lecture halls due to inappropriate clothing.
Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, similarly placed a ban on ‘indecent attire’ by students on its campus last year.
