Police exhume suspect’s corpse in Rivers
In a significant development, the Rivers State Police Command has exhumed the body of Gift Okpara, famously known as 2 Baba, a notorious cultist and prime suspect in the murder of former Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim, in Odiemudie community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.
This action comes shortly after the police had reported the death of the feared leader of the Iceland cult during a joint security raid in Idu-Ekpeye community in Ahoada East. However, loyalists of 2 Baba allegedly snatched his body and fled with it.
According to a police source speaking anonymously, operatives conducted a midnight operation on Thursday, led by loyalists of the deceased cult leader, which resulted in the discovery and exhumation of his remains buried in a deep forest.
A video circulating online captured the moment operatives, illuminated by torchlight, excavated the ground in an effort to retrieve the decomposed corpse.
In response to this development, the state police command has scheduled a media briefing for 11 am today, where further details regarding the recovery of late 2 Baba’s body will be disclosed to journalists.
