In a significant development in the fight against banditry, the FCT Police Command apprehended the notorious kidnap kingpin, Samaila Wakili Fafa, also known as Habu Ibrahim, on February 24, 2024. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives stormed Sardauna Forest in Toto, Nasarawa State, and successfully made the arrest.

 

Habu Ibrahim, who had long been on the wanted list of the command, is the second high-profile kidnapper for whom a bounty of N30 million was recently placed by the FCT minister, Barr Nyesom Wike. He confessed to his involvement in numerous kidnappings in the FCT and its environs, including the abduction of Barr. Chris Agidy, the legal adviser to Senator Ned Nwoko, and the district head of Ketti Village, Mr. Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, who were later killed by his syndicate.

 

Following his arrest, Habu Ibrahim led police operatives to the remains of Barr. Chris Agidy, which were recovered and deposited in Gwagwalada General Hospital.

 

The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, reaffirmed his commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents. He urged the public to report suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.
