Governor Alex Otti refutes allegations of lawsuit against Tinubu and FG
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has vehemently denied media reports alleging that he filed a lawsuit against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Otti dismissed the reports as fake news and urged the public to disregard them entirely.
The statement clarified that the purported lawsuit circulating on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), accusing Otti of taking legal action against the Nigerian Government and President Tinubu at the International Criminal Court (ICC), was entirely fabricated.
Addressing the specifics of the false reports, Otti’s office emphasized that there was no basis for such claims, as the Abia State Government is still in the planning stages regarding the establishment of a seaport, while the Federal Government has included provisions for an airstrip in Abia in the current budget.
Furthermore, the statement debunked allegations that Otti imposed a ban on businesses operated by Nigerians of northern extraction residing in Abia State until approval for the proposed seaport and international airport is granted. Such claims were dismissed as baseless and unfounded.
The public was urged to disregard the false reports and treat them as nothing more than malicious rumors fabricated by individuals with malicious intent. Governor Otti’s administration reaffirmed its commitment to transparent governance and urged citizens to focus on factual information rather than sensationalized falsehoods.
