Tragedy strikes Gaza: Israeli airstrike claims lives of Hamas leader’s kin
In a devastating turn of events, an Israeli airstrike targeted a civilian vehicle in Gaza’s Shati refugee camp, resulting in the tragic deaths of three sons and three grandchildren of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. The strike occurred as the family gathered to celebrate Eid, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the violence that has engulfed the region. Haniyeh condemned the attack, denouncing it as a stark example of Israel’s brutality and disregard for civilian lives. He emphasized the unwavering determination of Palestinian leaders to resist such aggression, despite the personal loss they endure. The Gaza media office joined in condemning the ongoing onslaught, attributing responsibility to Israel, the US administration, and the international community for what they termed a “genocide” against the Palestinian people. This tragic incident adds to the mounting toll of lives lost in the conflict, with at least 125 Palestinians reported dead in the past 24 hours alone.
