Abduction Alert: RCCG Pastor, Others Taken by Gunmen in Oyo
In a disturbing incident, Olugbenga Olawore, a pastor with The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), along with several passengers of a 14-seater bus, has been abducted in Oyo State. The kidnapping took place on Friday night at the Maya axis of Lanlate-Eruwa Road.
Reports indicate that the pastor and other passengers were traveling back from Ipapo town, where they had been finalizing burial arrangements for the pastor’s mother. Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the abduction on Saturday, revealing that some of the victims had already been rescued.
SP Osifeso assured the public that police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies and local hunters, are actively engaged in efforts to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the suspects. He disclosed that some of the rescued victims are providing valuable information to aid the investigation.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are conducting thorough searches in the forest and surrounding areas where the incident occurred, leaving no stone unturned in their quest to secure the safe return of all abducted individuals.
