The Adekunle Ajasin University alumni association has announced plans to invest N50 million in an ongoing hostel project at the institution. Additionally, the alumni recently donated a 5KVA solar power generator, valued at N4 million, to the University’s Exams and Records Unit.

This announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the National Publicity Secretary of the alumni association, O’Seun Ogunsakin, and shared with media reporters.

According to the statement, AAUA alumni president Dr. Olumide Olugbemi-Gabriel revealed these plans during the commissioning of the solar power project in Akungba-Akoko, the university’s host community.

Dr. Olugbemi-Gabriel explained that the solar power project was implemented to ensure a consistent power supply to the Exams and Records Unit, facilitating smooth processing of academic transcripts.

The President highlighted that many alumni had reported delays in transcript processing due to insufficient power supply and electricity rationing on campus, driven by the high costs of running generators.

He emphasized that the solar power initiative would enhance the relationship between the university and its alumni, who often require transcripts for further education or opportunities abroad.
