Plateau Governor lifts curfew on Mangu LGA after five months

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced the lifting of the curfew imposed on the Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. The curfew, which had been in place for five months, was initially enforced in response to security concerns following an attack in the Pushit and Sabon-Gari communities, resulting in casualties and property damage.

Governor Mutfwang’s decision to lift the curfew comes after the restoration of normalcy in the area, following consultations with the State Security Council. The governor emphasized that the lifting of the curfew aims to facilitate the resumption of agricultural and economic activities in the region, providing residents with the opportunity to rebuild and move forward.

Furthermore, the governor encouraged community leaders to continue fostering trust, tolerance, and understanding across different faith and ethnic groups. He urged the residents of Mangu LGA to prioritize peace, unity, and mutual support, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to fairness and justice for all.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support received thus far, while also acknowledging the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and order. He called for continued collaboration between the community and security agencies to ensure sustained peace and security in the LGA.
