After Roma’s defeat to Sevilla in Budapest, manager Jose Mourinho shared his thoughts on the heartbreaking loss during a post-match interview with Sky Sport. Mourinho expressed his disappointment, stating, “Tonight we died of mental and physical fatigue, there are so many episodes to talk about. Without the trophy in our hands, we are dead tired and proud.”
Despite the loss, Mourinho emphasized his pride in his team’s performance, saying, “You can lose a game, but never your professionalism. I won five finals and lost this one, but I’ve never been more proud than I am tonight. The guys gave it all.”
Mourinho also voiced his discontent with the refereeing decisions, suggesting they were unfair. He remarked, “The truth is that we are all very sad, with or without crying the truth is this. We will get home dead of tiredness and dead because of tonight’s unfair refereeing display.”
Reflecting on his future, Mourinho stated that he has been open with the club about any potential contact from other teams. He clarified, “I can’t say objectively that I will stay. I have another year of contract with Roma, the situation is clear.”
