Oluremi Tinubu Emphasizes President Tinubu’s Methodical Approach to National Restoration
In a solemn address during the inter-denominational church service commemorating Independence Day in Abuja, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu underscored that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, is steadfastly working towards national rejuvenation. She stressed that while President Tinubu is not a magician, he is dedicated to the meticulous task of rebuilding the nation, brick by brick. Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu expressed the administration’s commitment to address inherited challenges without assigning blame to past administrations, emphasizing their resolve to mend the damage done.
The First Lady emphasized that the Tinubu administration inherited long-standing issues, and their focus is on rectification rather than casting blame. She affirmed President Tinubu’s unwavering determination to restore and improve the nation’s state of affairs. Mrs.Oluremi Tinubu also emphasized the significance of good governance, urging citizens to follow the example of Jesus Christ, embodying qualities such as love, joy, peace, and forgiveness.
To further the message of hope, she urged Nigerians to look beyond current circumstances and celebrate the unity that defines the nation’s diversity. Quoting Matthew 11:28, she encouraged citizens to find solace in faith during challenging times. Mrs. Tinubu assured the public that President Tinubu has engaged in extensive consultations with the international community and investors to reposition the country.
During the service, the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Israel Akanji, provided words of encouragement, assuring Nigerians of their ability to overcome prevailing challenges. While commending President Tinubu for his Independence Day address, Akanji appealed to him and other branches of government to fulfill promises made to the populace, concluding with a heartfelt prayer for positive transformation in Nigeria.
In response, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume urged Nigerians to exercise patience, acknowledging that the complexities of the nation’s problems require time for resolution. He affirmed that measures are already being implemented to address the multifaceted issues facing the country.
