A former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has declared support for the presidential and state governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and Isa Muhammad Ashiru, urging the party members to unite and chase away the ruling All Progressives Party in the 2023 general elections.
According to Makarfi, any party that does not respect Nigeria’s diversity, particularly religious differences must not be allowed to rule the country or state.
The two-term senator stated this when he led the state governorship candidate to a meeting with the Christian clergy under the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Muslim Ummahs and the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union.
Makarfi, a former National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP, said, “You will never find Ashiru lacking in terms of equity and fairness, hence he deserves our support to reposition the state from its present polarised state.
