APC leader Cairo Ojougboh is mourned by Tinubu and Atiku.
President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences for the loss of Cairo Ojougboh, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, who passed away on Wednesday while allegedly watching the Super Eagles of Nigeria play the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-finals.
In the past, Ojougboh served as the House of Representatives representative for Delta State’s Ika Federal Constituency. A source close to the politician claims that Ojougboh passed away during the South Africa vs. Nigeria game.
“The incident took place when Nigeria was given a penalty.”
When SA scored, Ojougboh reportedly screamed and slumped as a result of a severe heart attack, according to the source. Ojougboh’s family has not yet issued a statement formally announcing his demise.
Tinubu has sent his condolences to the Ojougboh family, the administration, and the people of Delta State through his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
President Bola Tinubu learns of the death on Wednesday of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, with heavy heart.
“President Tinubu consoles his family and urges them to find strength and hope in God Almighty, who presides over the affairs of men, as well as in the cherished memories and legacy of the late APC chieftain, while praying for the peaceful repose of the departed,” the statement, signed by Ngelale, stated.
