Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, the founder of FCMB (First City Monument Bank), has passed away.

Reports confirm that Balogun passed away in London on Friday morning at the age of 89. He had the honor of holding the title of Otunba Tunwase of Ijebuland before his demise.

Following the customary practice, the official announcement of his death will be forthcoming due to his esteemed status as an Ijebu Chief.

Balogun played a pioneering role in the realms of investment banking and indigenous financial entrepreneurship in Nigeria. He marked his last birthday at the age of 89.
