President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima were officially inaugurated as the President and Vice President of Nigeria, respectively. The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwoola, administered the Oath of Office to them on Monday. Tinubu, a former Senator and governor of Lagos State emerged as the winner of the February 2023 presidential election, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
In the election results, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious with a total of 8,794,726 votes. His closest rival, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), received a total of 6,984,520 votes. Peter Obi of the Labour Party secured the third position with 6,101,533 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
