On Monday, Twitter took the step of removing the verification tag from the account of the former Vice-President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The verification tag was previously assigned to government officials.
As of the latest update, it has been observed that Osinbajo’s verification tag has been removed. However, the account of former President Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) still retains its verification tag.
As of now, Twitter has not stated any reason for the removal of the former vice president’s verification tag.
However, On May 29, 2023, both Osinbajo and his principal, President Buhari, handed over the administration to Bola Tinubu.
