The House of Representatives has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his resolution to eliminate the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol.

This commendation came following the unanimous approval of a motion of urgent public importance presented by Jimoh Olajide (APC/Lagos), a member of the House, during the plenary session on Tuesday.

In his inaugural address on Monday, President Tinubu declared that the “petrol subsidy gone”, a statement that triggered a surge in illegal activities and panic buying within the petroleum product supply chain.
