President Joe Biden experienced a forward fall on Thursday after tripping over an obstacle while on stage at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. However, he seemed uninjured.
The incident occurred after Biden, aged 80, had delivered the commencement address to the academy’s graduates. Immediately after shaking hands with a cadet and starting to walk back to his seat, he stumbled and fell.
Air Force personnel promptly provided assistance to help President Biden regain his footing, and he did not seem to require any additional aid. Upon standing up, Biden gestured toward the object that had seemingly caused him to stumble. It appeared to be a small black sandbag positioned on the stage.
White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt reassured the public shortly afterward, via a tweet, that President Biden was unharmed. LaBolt mentioned that there was a sandbag on the stage while Biden was engaging in handshakes.
As the oldest person ever to hold the presidency, Biden is currently seeking a second term in the 2024 election. His official doctor’s report this year confirmed his physical fitness and regular exercise routine.
In November 2020, shortly after his election victory over the incumbent Donald Trump, Biden sustained a foot injury while playing with a pet dog.
