Naval officers storms Ondo after murder of colleague. Following the suspected murder of a comrade, some naval officers allegedly went on a rampage in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area, Ondo State.
The navy officers allegedly stormed the community in search of the supposed killer of one of them, producing palpable tension in the rural community.
Many male adults have departed the town, according to a source who did not want to be identified for fear of harassment, and shops and marketplaces could not operate on Tuesday for fear of imprisonment.
According to the source, the dead was attacked by hoodlums in the town after a dispute with a commercial biker, also known as an Okada rider.
The late naval officer was alleged to have been transported to the town hospital after the attack, where he was certified dead by the doctor.
The okada rider was believed to have been seized and turned over to police in town, while one of the thugs who beat the deceased with the iron was said to have fled to evade arrest.
Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, agreed to investigate the situation.
