Osun APC request recall of teachers Oyetola employed

Ademola Adeleke, Governor Of Osun State

Osun APC request recall of teachers Oyetola employed. The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has requested the recall of 1,500 teachers fired by Governor Ademola Adeleke under the administration of Adegboyega Oyetola.

The APC, in a statement issued by its Acting Chairman, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, in Osogbo on Monday, claimed the state governor’s decision to dismiss the teachers was incorrect, and that the personnel were fired unjustly.

“It is counterproductive for any government at any level to politicize educational policy because its unintended boomerang effects would have a devastating effect on innocent pupils and students, as is currently the case with the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration,” the statement said.

“Governor Adeleke made the decision out of hatred and vindictiveness because everything related to his predecessor, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, was reversed.”

“Because those recruited teachers are Osun State indigenes who were duly employed during his predecessor’s statutory tenure, Governor Adeleke has no reason not to reconsider his earlier mistake of relieving the innocent teachers of their employment.”

However, in response, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that the government was aware of the vacancies in Osun schools and that staff auditing across the state public service had already begun with a plan to fill existing vacancies in the education, health, and other sub-sectors in the state.

Rasheed stated that Adeleke had already given a directive for the collection of teacher vacancies in the state, and that the audit report will offer a solid platform for the recruitment of new teachers and health professionals in the state.
