Anambra UTME candidate-I didn't change my score

Mmesoma Ejikeme

Anambra UTME candidate-I didn’t change my score. Mmesoma Ejikeme, an Anambra candidate accused of falsifying her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board on Monday, contended that she did not forge her result.

This was mentioned by Ejikeme in a video received by our correspondent in Abuja.

According to the PUNCH, JAMB stated in a statement issued on Sunday evening that Ejikeme manually inflated her UTME result from 249 to 362 and used her manually inflated score to lure a N3m scholarship from Innoson Motors, which was about to be awarded by the Anambra state government until she was caught.

“The most pitiful of them all is the case of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME and was given a N3 million scholarship by Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma.” She was even poised to be honored by the Anambra State Government when one of its top officials contacted JAMB to validate her claim, only for the Board to reveal that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had scored 249 rather than the 362 she claimed. “She had manipulated her UTME results in order to deceive the public and fraudulently obtain a scholarship and other recognitions,” JAMB said in a statement.

In the video, though, Ejikeme says, “My name is Ejikeme Mmesoma.” This result belongs to me. I went to the JAMB portal to print this result, and this is what I got. This is my total: 362.

“They scanned the QR code on my result, which revealed a Yoruba name — Omotola Afolabi, who scored 138.”

“When the same Omotola was rechecked, it scored 338, indicating that there is a problem.”

“I printed and downloaded it exactly like this from their website.” So stating that I forged my findings is something I don’t know, and I’m traumatized that they accused me of doing so since I’m not capable of doing so,” she added.

She did, however, emphasize that despite being told, both JAMB and DSS did not conduct an inquiry before the board determined that she falsified her results.

The spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin is yet to react to the video
