Chicago State University releases Tinubu's academic records to Atiku

Chicago State University in the United States has complied with a United States District Court order by releasing the academic records of President Bola Tinubu to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. This development comes after a US district judge dismissed President Tinubu’s objections.

The judge’s ruling stated, “Mr. Atiku’s Application is, therefore, granted,” emphasizing the urgency due to the pending Supreme Court of Nigeria deadline. The court has set an expedited schedule for completion of discovery, with specific deadlines for document production and deposition.

In response to Atiku’s request for a copy of Tinubu’s diploma issued in 1979, CSU explained that they do not typically retain copies of student diplomas and, after an extensive search, could not locate the original diploma prepared for Mr. Tinubu in 1979.

Atiku intends to use these academic records in his appeal at the Supreme Court, challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election. However, Tinubu’s legal team argues that the documents hold no relevance in the Supreme Court proceedings.
