Femi Shaka to chair Zuma Film Festival jury . Prof. Femi Shaka has been named Chairman of the eight-member jury that will rule on all entries in the Competition Category of the Zuma Film Festival by the Nigerian Film Corporation.

This was stated in a statement issued by the NFC’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr Brian Etuk, on Thursday in Abuja.

 

Etuk stated that Shaka and the other jury members were expected to use their knowledge of experience in selecting winners.

 

“The jury includes both Nigerian and foreign film stakeholders who have made significant contributions to the growth of film production.”

“Shaka is one of the most revered arts, theatre, and film development scholars and specialists.

“He has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria’s vibrant movie industry also known as Nollywood.

“He is a well-known strong advocate for cinema as a tool for national development, through regular campaigns for the establishment of a department of film and television studies,” he said.

He stated that the composition of the jury reflected the weight of ZUFF, which he described as one of the fastest-growing international film festivals in the world.

The 13th edition of the ZUFF will be held from December 1 to December 10 in Abuja with the theme: “Cultural Convergence”.

Submission of entries by filmmakers was opened on June 15 and will close at midnight on November 15.

Entries are submitted on https://film freeway.com/zumafilmfestival or to Zuma Film Festival Secretariat, NFC Headquarters Jos.
