Maguire recieves ghana lawmaker’s apology. England defender Harry Maguire has accepted an apology from a Ghanaian lawmaker who mocked him last year while criticising the country’s vice president.

Isaac Adongo, a member of parliament, had derided Maguire’s struggles at Manchester United in 2022 while accusing Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia of economic mismanagement.

Adongo described him as “the biggest threat at the centre of the Manchester United defence” to berate Bawumia’s competence.

However, in a surprising turnaround this week, the legislator publicly hailed Maguire for overcoming his on-field difficulties. He praised the centre-back as a “transformational footballer.”

Adongo, however, resumed attacks on Bawumia, comparing him to be with a cup in hand at the International Monetary Fund – alluding to Ghana seeking an economic bailout.

Responding via Twitter, he accepted the apology from Adongo. “MP Issac Adongo apology accepted . See you at Old Trafford soon,” he wrote.

Last season, he fell out of favour at Manchester United amid poor form that drew intense criticism.
