State radio MD kano state suspended. Hisham Habib, the managing director of the state-owned radio station Kano Radio Corporation, has been suspended by the Kano Government.
The government also directed the corporation’s affairs to be overseen by the Deputy Managing Director, Abubakar Rano.
Abdullahi Musa, the acting Secretary to the Government, confirmed the suspension in a letter on Friday and asked Rano to take over in an acting capacity.
“Following the suspension of Managing Director, Kano Radio Corporation, I am instructed to request you to oversee the affairs of the corporation with immediate effect,” the text of the letter said.
Meanwhile, the state government has not provided an explanation for the suspension.
Benue Assembly has suspended four of its members.
The suspended members are Solomon Gyila, representing Gwer West State Constituency; Douglass Akya, representing Makurdi South; Dyako Ashwa, representing Konshisha State Constituency, and Anthony Agom, representing Okpokwu Constituency.
Also, the House confirmed the local government caretaker committees appointed by Governor Hyacinth Alia to oversee the affairs of the councils.
A total of 21 nominees were confirmed while two from Agatu and Oju local government areas were rejected.
The motion for the rejection of the two nominees was moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Saater Tiseer, and seconded by Peter Ipusu of Katsina-Alaa West constituency.
The House adjourned till December 5, 2023.
