Army rescues 10 kidnapped victims, neutralizes terrorist
Troops of the Nigerian Army successfully rescued 10 kidnapped passengers in Kogi State, following a distress call regarding a bus hijacked by armed assailants along the Enugu-Kogi Road in Olamaboro Local Government Area.
Responding swiftly to the situation, the troops engaged the kidnappers in a firefight at Ogugu Community, compelling them to release their hostages, who were moved into the nearby Ette forest.
In a separate operation, troops conducted a clearance operation in Anambra State, targeting IPOB/ESN enclaves in Egbuoma/Osiam in Oguta Local Government Area. During this operation, one terrorist was neutralized, and a Mercedes Benz 350 4matic was recovered from their camp.
Additionally, troops quelled an attack by the Bassa militia group on Katakpa village in Nasarawa State, resulting in the successful repulsion of the assailants. During the operation, two AK 47 rifles, two AK 47 magazines, two G3 rifles, two G3 rifle magazines, 41 cartridges of 39mm ball special ammunition, and 45 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were recovered.
The Nigerian Army reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining peace and stability in the country through continuous operations to sanitize troubled areas.
