In a recent operation conducted within the Osogbo metropolis, the Osun State Police Command, in collaboration with local hunters, apprehended three suspected cultists and a motorcycle thief.

 

According to a resident of Alekuwodo Area who spoke to The PUNCH, the suspected cultists had been instilling fear among residents until the police intervened based on a tip-off.

 

The suspects were reportedly gathered for a meeting when operatives from the Osun Anti Cultism Squad intervened, leading to the arrest of three individuals while others managed to escape.

 

Confirming the arrests, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, revealed that the apprehended individuals were accused of attacking people in the Alekuwodo Area. She stated that the suspects confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.

 

Additionally, a notorious motorcycle thief, known as Sodiq, was apprehended at the Ilesa Garage Area of Osogbo by a joint operation involving the Anti Cultism Unit and members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service.

 

Eyewitnesses reported that three motorcycles were recovered from Sodiq following his arrest.

 

Opalola assured that efforts are underway to capture other members of the gang who managed to flee the scene.
