Alhaji Muri Yakubu Ajaka, the former Gubernatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State, has strongly denounced the repeated violence and loss of innocent lives in various communities across Omala Local Government Area. He specifically mentioned Bagana, Otutubatu, Iyade, Agbenema, Agojeju-Odo, and other affected areas as witnessing senseless killings and maiming of residents.

In a statement issued in Abuja and personally signed by Alhaji Ajaka, he urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene in the deteriorating security situation in Kogi State. He called for the declaration of a state of emergency to quell the ongoing violence and prevent further bloodshed.

Emphasizing the sanctity of every life and the duty of the state government to safeguard its citizens, Ajaka stressed the need for immediate action to restore peace and security in Kogi. He urged the state government to mobilize resources and deploy security forces to maintain order and stability in the affected areas.

Alhaji Ajaka also appealed to the federal government to step in and address the security crisis, expressing confidence in President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring security across the nation. He underscored the urgency of the situation, citing the brutal killings of over 35 people and the apparent inaction of the state government.

Furthermore, Ajaka called upon the Inspector General of Police, Service Chiefs, and National Security Adviser to launch thorough investigations into the root causes of the conflict. He urged humanitarian assistance for those displaced by the violence and called on the affected communities to cooperate with security forces in restoring peace.
