Governor threatens legal action over certificate forgery allegation
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is considering legal action against lawyer Hassan Oladotun for allegedly spreading false information aimed at disqualifying him from the state governorship primary election.
Oladotun had petitioned the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the academic credentials of the governor, but the police denied the authenticity of the report that claimed Aiyedatiwa’s O’level certificate was forged.
In response, Oladotun petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission, insisting that the report was genuine.
Aiyedatiwa’s lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), has affirmed the authenticity of the governor’s West African School Certificate Examination results and demanded a public apology and withdrawal of the allegations.
If Oladotun fails to comply within seven days, legal action will be pursued against him.
