Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu has achieved a historic milestone as the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). Princess, aged 24, was among the 135 Officer Cadets who graduated during RMAS’ Sovereign’s Parade in London today.

The parade marked the culmination of 44 weeks of rigorous training for the Officer Cadets of Commissioning Course 232. His Majesty King Charles, represented by Général d’armée Pierre SchilI, Chief of the French Army, graced the ceremony.

Princess Owowoh’s graduation as the first female and 190th Nigerian graduate from RMAS signifies a significant achievement in the longstanding UK-Nigerian military cooperation. This partnership was reaffirmed during the UK-Nigeria Security and Defence Partnership talks in February 2024.

Princess Owowoh began her military journey at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State in 2018. She distinguished herself during her tenure, holding various leadership positions and achieving academic excellence, including a first-class honours degree in Biological Sciences.

In her statement, Officer Cadet Owowoh expressed gratitude to her support system and emphasized her commitment to representing Nigeria with pride and making a positive impact globally.

The UK celebrates this historic moment with Nigeria and extends congratulations to Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu on her remarkable achievement.
