The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has advised Nigerians to pay no heed to individuals advocating for the creation of a Yoruba nation, describing them as mere attention seekers who do not represent the interests of the Yoruba race. Speaking during a courtesy visit by members of the Yoruba Council Worldwide, Oba Ogunwusi commended the organization for promoting Yoruba culture and values, emphasizing the importance of upholding unity and supporting the current administration’s efforts. He urged citizens to focus on engaging positively with one another and discussing the achievements of the government, rather than giving attention to divisive agendas. The president of the Yoruba Council Worldwide, Mr. Hassan, highlighted the significance of the upcoming Omoluwabi festival in preserving Yoruba morals and values, stressing the need to instill these principles in the youth to ensure national development.

During the meeting, Oba Ogunwusi lauded the president of the Yoruba Council, Aare Oladotun Hassan, for his dedication to promoting Yoruba culture and values. He encouraged Nigerians to refrain from granting relevance to individuals advocating for the Yoruba nation, emphasizing the need to address existing challenges in the country and support ongoing governmental efforts.

Mr. Hassan, in turn, emphasized the importance of the Omoluwabi festival in reviving and preserving Yoruba morals and values. He explained that the festival serves as a platform to promote the ethos of Omoluwabi and foster national development.

The Yoruba Council Worldwide, established in 1999, focuses on promoting Yoruba culture, national development, and democracy. The organization, which celebrates its sixth edition of the World Omoluwabi Day, strives to engage in conversations that reignite the fading ethos of Omoluwabi in society.

In conclusion, the Ooni of Ife’s call to disregard Yoruba nation agitators underscores the importance of unity and collective focus on national development, while the Yoruba Council’s efforts aim to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people for future generations.
