Compassionate initiative: Ekiti man offers free Science teaching at Niger school.
An Ekiti State resident, Amusa Lasisi, has revealed his motivation for volunteering to teach secondary school students at Government Day College, Tunga Lowcost, Minna, free of charge. In a letter dated April 29, 2024, addressed to the school principal, Lasisi expressed concern over the high failure rates in various examinations across Niger and other states. He emphasized his commitment to developing students and fostering patriotism, rather than succumbing to the trend of leaving the country for better opportunities abroad. Lasisi, a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering, is determined to make a difference by offering voluntary classes in Mathematics and other science-related subjects at the school.
Lasisi’s altruistic gesture stems from a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute positively to his community. Despite the prevailing challenges, he remains steadfast in his commitment to uplifting the educational standards in Nigeria. Through his voluntary teaching engagement, Lasisi hopes to inspire other Nigerians to prioritize national development and invest in the future of the younger generation. His actions serve as a reminder of the power of compassion and the impact that individuals can make in their communities.
