APC affirms Ayedatiwa as Ondo Gubernatorial candidate, dismisses False reports
APC has refuted an online article alleging electoral irregularities in its April 20 governorship primary election in Ondo state. The party asserts that the primary was conducted lawfully and reaffirms Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa as its candidate for the November 16 Ondo State Governorship Election.
Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the party, Nze Chidi Duru, emphasized the credibility of the election, stating that due process was followed. He explained that both the primary election committee and the Election Appeal Committee validated the process as free and fair.
Duru emphasized that the NWC adopted the reports of both committees, leading to the issuance of a Certificate of Return to Ayedatiwa. He highlighted the absence of reports from INEC regarding any irregularities, reinforcing the legitimacy of Ayedatiwa’s candidacy.
Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, refrained from commenting on the matter, directing inquiries to relevant department officials.
