Abia State Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, has vowed that those responsible for the brutal killing of soldiers at Obikabia junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba, will be brought to justice. Speaking after a meeting of the state security council and the newly inaugurated Abia Security Advisory Council members, Onwuemelie condemned the attack as both unfortunate and cowardly.

He stated, “The incident is highly condemnable and indeed cowardly. The security agencies, the Abia State government, and all well-meaning Nigerians are deeply disturbed by what happened. Everything necessary will be done to ensure it doesn’t happen again, and the law will take its course.”

Onwuemelie urged residents to continue their daily activities without fear and to cooperate with security agencies. He noted, “No society is completely immune from security breaches, even in the most developed countries. We must go about our business while improving our security measures to prevent further incidents.”

The Commissioner also mentioned that the council will keep engaging stakeholders to enhance the capacity of various security agencies. Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Commander Macdonald Uba (rtd), echoed these sentiments, expressing his grief over the soldiers’ deaths and promising that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
