DSS warns against violent protests on Democracy day
The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a warning regarding potential protests planned for Democracy Day, cautioning against any actions that could jeopardize national security. The DSS emphasized the need to uphold the right to assembly without undermining public safety and national security, particularly in light of the planned protests coinciding with Democracy Day celebrations.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, underscored the government’s commitment to addressing contentions peacefully and urged citizens to reject any attempts to incite disorder. The DSS reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the nation against disruptive activities and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security across the country.
