China new fashion, Facekinis, against hot temperatures. People in China have created new fashion clothing called as Facekinis in a desperate bid to combat the sweltering heat as they soar to unanticipated heights.
Facekinis, which are full-face masks with openings for the wearer’s eyes and nose, separate sleeves to cover the arms, wide-brimmed hats, and light jackets made of UV-resistant fabric, have grown particularly popular, according to The Guardian.
As a result of the country’s ground surface temperatures in some areas reaching as high as 80 °C and the air temperature increasing above 35 °C (95 °F), the international news platform said that locals and visitors have started carrying portable fans and covering themselves to prevent sunburn.
The new fashion apparel had been gaining momentum and enjoying patronage from people in the country.
A salesperson who works in a store that sells headwear and goes by the surname Wang told The Guardian that business had increased.
“This year is much, much better than past years compared to before the pandemic, two or three years ago. This year’s sales volume has increased significantly, according to Wang.
“The main concern I have is potential skin diseases or developing sunspots,” said Li Xuyan, a 17-year-old student who was visiting a tourist area in Beijing with her mother, both wearing masks that covered most of their faces, The Guardian reports.
Tourists were seen taking selfies next to a 12-meter-tall thermometer at the Flaming Mountains in Xinjiang, which was showing a surface temperature of 80 °C in real time.
