Bayern’s Gnabry
Bayern’s Gnabry suffers fracture to miss several weeks. Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry will have surgery on Wednesday for a fractured lower arm, which will keep him out for “several weeks,” according to coach Thomas Tuchel.
Bayern’s Gnabry was injured late Tuesday in a German Cup game against Preussen Muenster of the third level.
“It’s sour. “He is an important player and a fantastic character,” Tuchel said, adding that he will “miss several weeks.”
Gnabry will miss a number of Bayern Munich’s forthcoming games, including a Bundesliga away encounter against Leipzig on Saturday and a Champions League group game away at Copenhagen on Tuesday.
His participation will also be in doubt when new Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann makes his debut during an October trip to the United States for friendlies with the US and Mexico.
Gnabry was substituted after 11 minutes following a collision with Muenster goalkeeper Johannes Schenk.
An X-ray subsequently confirmed the fracture.
